I went through two driving instructors before meeting Harriet and up until then, I didn't enjoy driving at all! It became a chore and I never looked forward to doing them. However, when I started learning with Harriet, my opinion on driving changed completely. After the first lesson, I felt as if I had been driving with her for ages. I was completely comfortable and this helped me really focus on all of the little things that I needed tightening up. I honestly think that if I didn't find Harriet, I wouldn't have bothered trying to pass until after university. I'm so grateful Harriet - couldn't have done it without you!!!
After four years of no driving since passing my test I was nervous to get back in the car but after taking refresher lessons and the pass plus with Harriet I feel more experienced and confident. She explained things that I wasn't taught properly by previous instructors and I'm now buying my first car and can't wait to drive it!

Choosing Harriet to be my driving instructor proved to be a very good decision as I passed my test first time with only three miners! The lessons weren't as daunting as I had feared due to Harriet's calm and professional approach. Harriet was very clear in her instructions and always made the lessons enjoyable. She was also very patient and encouraging which increased my confidence on the road. My lessons were of two hour duration allowing me to get plenty of practice. I would definitely recommend Harriet as an ideal instructor and once I have saved up enough money for a car of my own, I shall be doing my pass plus with her.
I recently started driving lessons with Harriet, after being with an instructor for over 6 months who then decided to quit. I was confident I could pass my test quickly as my previous instructor had mentioned booking me in for it, however was surprised to learn my other instructor had forgotten to tell me the basics of being on the road such as blind spot checks coming off a roundabout! Harriet was able to teach me these things in a short amount of time, that I hadn’t previously known with my other instructor. She was very patient and calm with me and was able to teach me safe driving techniques. I loved how Harriet created a learner handbook, that I could take home with me, which detailed my lessons, the payment information and questions relating to the practical test. It was extremely professional and really inspired my confidence with her. I only had 16 hours with Harriet, and passed my test first time with only 4 minors! Before the test, Harriet put me at ease and gave me a little ‘pep talk’ which calmed my nerves! She was really supportive throughout my whole time with her, and I really appreciated that. I will be staying with Harriet to hopefully complete my Pass Plus Course and I have already recommended her to my family and friends! Thank you Harriet!!
Learning to drive can seem daunting but Harriet makes the most difficult manoeuvres and situations manageable with her calm, clear instruction. Harriet is knowledgeable and explains the well structured lessons so you know what to expect, and coupled with the fact that she is grade 6 on the ADI scale I can whole heartedly recommend the 'Harriet Miller Driving Academy' to anyone!
I came to Harriet after having 35 hours with two different instructors. I was pleasantly surprised to find that she is extremely professional, organised and most importantly- she truly cared about her pupils. She is straight forward in the way she teaches and makes driving so much simpler. When I came to her I only knew two manoeuvres and could not master the ‘left reverse’. After only 20 minutes in the car with Harriet and I could do the ‘left reverse’ perfectly! She then taught me the other manoeuvres. I only had 9 hours with Harriet and passed my test first time with only 2 minor mistakes! She is a star! I highly recommend her services!
After a slow start with another instructor, Harriet gave me the boost in confidence that I needed to become a more competent driver. From the very first lesson I saw driving in a different light. This was due to Harriet’s calm and professional manner which instantly put me at ease. She understands that everyone makes mistakes so although they are discussed and learnt from they are then put aside so that they don’t hang over the rest of the lesson. The lessons are well structured and consist of different aspects of driving such as: manoeuvres, test routes and general skills. These short bursts result in interesting yet challenging sessions. In my first few lessons I tackled a variety of scenarios which I had not come across with my old instructor. Each was carefully explained though the use of diagrams, observations and ultimately hands-on experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Harriet to people at any stage of driving. She is very knowledgeable and aware of what the examiners will be looking for during your test. As well as this however she teaches her pupils how to be safe and eco-friendly drivers in real-life situations.
I passed first time, after just 15 or so lessons. Very flexible learning hours and very friendly during the lessons. I would recommend her to anyone!
