I began my driving lessons with Harriet in January 2012, the first time I'd got behind the wheel in over 17 years. Obviously I was really nervous and for ages I had convinced myself that I wouldn't be able to pass my test because I just get too nervous, not only on the test but out on the road in general. After a couple of lessons with Harriet I was feeling much more at ease due to her calm nature and ability to explain things effectively. She is very patient, makes driving enjoyable and also is extremely professional. With her continued help I have just passed my theory 1st time and am feeling confident enough to put in for my practical test. I'm not saying I'll not be nervous on the day but I will sure feel as if I have had adequete tuition beforehand and the correct ammount of good advice to get me through
I had been driving for 3 years with very poor instructers and not passed my driving test. At one point I considered giving up driving, however, I found hope through my sister who passed first time with Harriet. This made me think about pursuing driving again, and I can confidently say I have not regreted my decision. Harriet is an exceptional driving teacher, and she has really made me confident in driving, made me a safer driver and not to forget the skills that will equip me for future driving. Highly recomended to pupils considering driving lessons for the first time, or continuing driving after having poor instructers! Very very pleased, A1!
I started refresher driving lessons with Harriet when my wife was pregnant with our first child. I was extremely nervous as I had not driven since passing my test 18 years ago in a quiet rural location, however Harriet immediately put me at ease with her professional and friendly manner. The contrast between my first set of lessons and Harriet’s was enormous. She ensured that each lesson was tailored to me, pushing me just enough to develop my skills and increase my confidence, whilst making it an enjoyable experience. She also ensured that every lesson was different, introducing me to a variety of different conditions that included independent, night and motorway driving. Harriet’s passion for driving is really infectious which meant that I actually looked forward to my lessons and even though I had plenty of mistakes her calm and patient manner meant that I was always able to learn from them without affecting my confidence. Not once did she show any sign of frustration throughout my lessons! As a result I now feel I am much safer and assertive driver who respects other road users. Finally, an additional advantage of choosing Harriet is that her car is a little bigger and better quality than your average “Learner” car which made the transition to my family car very easy. I would have no hesitation in recommending Harriet if you are a new driver or returning to driving after a break. I don’t think I could have found a better instructor!
’ve been learning to drive with Harriet since August 2011 and I knew straight after my first lesson I had picked the perfect driving instructor. Her calm and assuring approach to teaching really set me at ease and built up my confidence while driving. As confidence on the road grows, Harriet encourages and pushes you to reach your full potential. Harriet is extremely reliable and punctual as well as flexible with planning/booking lessons, and also provides you with the knowledge for the theory test. Harriet is an excellent driving instructor and I would recommend her to anyone.
Just note to say thank you, for not only your wonderful service but above all success in getting Simon through his driving test under spectacular circumstance. Not only did he live on an Island with no cars, and therefore had no chance of practice apart from tractor driving but was told that until he passed his test there would definitely be no trip abroad. Needless to say what you successfully achieved in only a week gave him a one way ticket to Australia where he is currently improving his driving skills by travelling from Melbourne to Cairns.
Harriet was recommended to me by a friend who had just passed her driving test. As a thirty- something non driver, I was terrified before my first lesson but Harriet has proved to be exactly the instructor I needed! Harriet’s approach is calm and motivational and she has quickly built my confidence and taught me driving skills using a variety of techniques. My progress record is up dated at the end of each lesson and I am confidence that I am being taught for life, not just to pass my test.
I have been taking lessons with Harriet for a quite a while now and I have really enjoyed all of them. All the manoeuvres necessary for day to day driving are very easy to master thanks to Harriet’s sound advice and calming manner. In addition, what you learn in lessons goes well beyond just the driving test and steers you towards being a better driver overall. I’d recommend her to anybody!
Initially I was terrified of being behind the wheel of a car, but having Harriet with me really put me at ease. She is so patient and reassuring about any mistakes you make and encourages you whenever you doubt your ability during a lesson. Harriet’s great knowledge of driving meant that every new skill and manoeuvre was broken down into simple and understandable steps before I attempted them which meant things which were initially daunting seemed much more simple and manageable. Harriet’s flexibility with lesson times and picking up/dropping off also means that I can fit in my driving lessons easily around my college and work schedules which makes life so much easier when things get a bit busy! Having just passed my theory test I felt much more confident knowing that Harriet was available to contact if I was struggling to understand anything and had plenty of revision methods to make me feel prepared for my test. I look forward to the rest of my lessons and passing my practical test with Harriet. I would recommend her to anyone.
Finding a female driving instructor was extremely important to me. I had a bad experience with a male driving instructor. I had given up trying to learn to drive! After having my second child I decided it was about time I tried to learn again, and I came across Harriet’s website, gave her a call and had a lesson within the week. I was so nervous and never shaken so much in my life! Harriet could see how nervous I was and made feel at ease taking things step by step for me. After an hour learning with Harriet I was driven home on main roads (something I thought I would never be able to do that soon)! She guided me and made me feel at ease, encouraging me again all the way. Harriet is an extremely lovely woman, she really makes the effort to get to know you and there is never an awkward silence. Even when I have had a lesson where everything has just gone wrong, Harriet encourages me and gets me to do it again until I get it right. Harriet has not just shown me how to pass my test, she has taught me to be a good and safe driver, and a driver who is confident to drive with my children in the car! I couldn’t have picked a better instructor to learn with and would certainly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn to drive.
The moment I stepped in the car with Harriet she put me at ease. The vast amount of knowledge she had about the car and the fact that she was a Pass Plus Instructor made learning very easy for me and my lessons were a real enjoyment. She is extremely patient and encourages you every step of the way. Even when you can do a left reverse perfectly she always wants to push you to develop your skills in more difficult environments. Harriet is extremely enthusiastic about driving and is caring towards the pupil. I started off as a nervous pupil but with Harriet's support I now feel very confident and in fact I passed first time with only 2 minors! If I had the choice I would learn to drive again with Harriet and would definitely recommend her to anyone - she is a real gem
